A Short and Simple Theory on "Two Can Keep a Secret"

Thursday, November 10, 2016
It all revolves back to Forrest Fenn's Memoir.

Page 98: "Strangers move in and out of our lives, only to punctuate the moment with something useful, like a waiter or a paperboy."

Wait...what? Waiters and paperboys "punctuate a moment?" What does that mean in the context of Forrest Fenn's memoir? Could a moment be "punctuated" by a photo, something that captures and freezes a moment in time?

Forrest says the paperboy and the waiter are useful. Could they be useful in determining the location of important hints in the book? I believe so, because the waiter refers us to page 61, which has a picture of Donnie looking at the camera with an annoyed expression. The caption under the photo says:

"Donnie started to look like an unTIPPED WAITER and when he LEANED a little forward in his saddle and just stared at me, I knew enough to be still and WATCH THE TREES, after I took this photograph." (From The Thrill of the Chase, A Memoir, by Forrest Fenn)

Forrest may be instructing us to WATCH THE TREES.  If you look closely, there's a lot of contrast between light and dark, and a few areas that appear...different. Look closely at those, and you might find why Forrest has directed us to this page of the book.

The paperboy is on page 46. This photo needs very close examination to find the clue there.

Pg 103: "It seems obvious to me now that we are all temporary statements, like a CUT BOUQUET on the living room table, to make brief statements in passing and maybe cause a SMILE, then go on to make room for others who will play those parts."

Here, I believe, Forrest is directing us to a photo with a cut bouquet--his wedding photo on page 72. Again, only close inspection will reveal the hint.

So where am I going with this?

"Two can keep a secret if one of them is dead."

Pg 100: "The ground KNOWS and the tall grass KNOWS, but they won't tell."
Pg. 102: "The grass SEES, and the trees and rushing waterS of the spring creek also SEE."

What do the ground and grass and trees and waterS see and know, but won't tell?

THE SECRET WHERE.

The ground is not technically alive. Some trees are not alive. And certainly, the trees and creeks and ground and grass in the book's photographs are not alive, but they have been frozen or usefully punctuated in a moment to keep Forrest's secret.

That's where the answers lie.

Voting Day

Tuesday, November 8, 2016

It's Election Day. I already voted, and I'm sure you can guess who I voted for. Hint: It wasn't Tan Dump Lord. (Credit to Stephen Colbert for the anagram fun). I don't want to get into heavy political talk, but I can imagine that once votes are counted and the announcement of who our next President will be, there will be chaos either way.

I posted this on Twitter the other day, keeping with my Parks and Rec Presidential theme:

There's so much contention in America over this election. People getting punched in the face for having a politician's bumper sticker on their car. People's homes getting egged for having a political sign in their yard. At least, that's what's happening here in Florida.

It's really disturbing, and I'm on edge thinking about what may happen tomorrow once the outcome is decided.

Anyway, please try to refrain from political comments. I know what both candidates have done. I'm not thrilled with either one, but one, in my opinion, has no chance of ruling this country effectively.

I've been having some weird vision issues the last few days. My eyes hurt when I move them, and they're pretty red and irritated, but not itchy. It's not pinkeye, and this morning the vision in my right eye is really blurry. A few months ago, I had the blurriness in my left eye, but that got better after a while.

Today, I'm in x-ray all day, and the schedule is over-booked with patients. So, I'll be really busy. Which makes the day go by fast. Yesterday, the day seemed to fly by, and soon it was 4:00. My boss and I were like, "Yeah, we're almost done!" Then someone walked into our office, pointed to our wall clock and said, "You forgot to turn your clock back."

You could almost hear the air coming out of the tires as we deflated. Lol.

I have two doctor appointments this week. I am SO sick of doctor appointments. But you gotta do what you gotta do, and I am really thankful for insurance. :)

Anyway, time to get Joe to school...

Something Incredible...

Sunday, November 6, 2016
BBC Earth is premiering "Planet Earth II" today and it looks amazing. VSauce host, Michael, interviewed David Attenborough, and added his own observations. The opening is incredibly sad and thought provoking. I think it's worth a watch. I think you will all agree. When it comes down to it, there are things more important than the bickering and infighting of the chase.

A bit of resolution and thanks

Harry, I just wanted to say thank you for taking down the posts about me. You have a heart after all. I will not name you or any of your members as a codefendant in a show of good faith. I'm not sure if the lawyer has sent out the cease and desist, but if he hasn't, I will tell him not to.  So here is the olive branch I extend to you:

Although I really played no part in anyone getting banned at CC, I am sorry for those who did. But I promise I didn't ask for anyone to be banned. If we could all talk like mature adults, things would be okay. Does it really matter if some people find hints in the book? Should that cause the level of derision and outrage it did? Why can't we just accept we all have different ideas, and if not embrace other's thoughts, then at least tolerate them without belittling them.

I will also remove my posts with minute by minute updates about your blog. Please, I'm doing this as a measure of good will--please resist whatever urge you may have to speak of me like I'm some monster. I'm not.

JJ, however, continues to libel me. If she gets banned somewhere, she just goes somewhere else. Suffice it to say that I'm pursuing my lawsuit against her. EVERY single thing she said are lies.

JJ, You have violated the cease and desist I gave you before. I am not going to let someone maliciously libel me. THAT's what's hurting my kids, them seeing a lunatic stalking their mom with malicious and outright lies. Don't blame me for what YOU did. I believe you are a compulsive liar. And I believe you are mentally ill and need help. I hope after this is over, you will finally realize the damage your lies have caused, not only to me, but to the entire chase, and you will get the help you need.

I believe you lied about nursing school, because if you had actually gone, you would know that posting X-rays is perfectly legal as long as you crop out patient info, which I did. You would actually know HIPAA if you actually were in nursing school. Just guessing what HIPAA is and then libeling someone with the false info you think you know won't go over to well with the judge.

Again, I hope you get the help you need. But I don't think MY KIDS will EVER forgive you for the lies you've told about me, especially on the day they laid their Mimi to rest. How could you be that cruel and selfish to them?

They were absolutely stunned at how evil someone could be to say the things you did. The Norris's have been family friends since Aidan was born, and Lyndy has been my best friend since the fifth grade. I didn't tell them about all your lies, but I had to tell them about that one because our kids are friends with each other and I didn't want Lyndy's kids telling mine first. See how your jealousy over James has hurt so many people? I'm VERY glad you don't have children.

If JJ has emailed anyone out there anything, please email me so you get the entire conversation. You need to see both sides.

Jamie Jones, you cannot win this. However, I'm willing to stop after the cease and desist is issued if you will seriously think about getting help for your anger and jealousy issues. Realizing that you might not be able to help your outbursts has sparked some pity in my heart. But this is the only time I will offer. If you continue to libel me, I will pursue to the fullest extent.

The truth will come out in discovery, and even if I'm awarded zero dollars, just the principle of winning this and proving I was right and every thing she said was a lie, will be worth it.

I will say the emotional distress over all this is taking its toll. I'm going to talk to a counselor about it this week. The constant attacks from every side and every blog from JJ and the people on your blog is taking its toll on my health and well being.

I'm going to bed. Can we finally have some peace?

The Last but Not Final Goodbye

Saturday, October 29, 2016
My mom's funeral is this morning, after having been delayed by the hurricane. So I haven't been online to blog much. Hopefully, I'll get back into the swing of things by Monday. I'm expecting a mixture of emotions today as I gather with my friends and family. Prayers appreciated. Thank you to everyone who offered me support over the last few days as I've prepared for this day.

Boom! Crash! What was that?

Tuesday, October 25, 2016
So, I was exhausted last night, and went to bed a little early...and just as I was falling into a beautiful sleep, I heard a couple of knocking noises. It sounded like the washing machine had an unbalanced load.

And that's what it was. I mistakenly thought one of the kids would hear the banging and go remedy the situation since their bedrooms are right there, and it was their laundry, but apparently, they don't know that an unbalanced load could knock that washing machine all around the laundry room, and ultimately destroy the whole house.

The next thing I heard, as I'm about to get up, is what sounded like a shotgun, and Joe screeching. So I got up even faster and met Joe in the laundry room, and of course, he said, "Something's wrong with the washer."

"Obviously," I replied. I admit I was a little grouchy.

I opened the lid of the washer, and the thing is JAMMED packed with towels, jeans and probably Aidan's entire wardrobe. I said, "What in the world? This load is WAY too big." And I noticed the basin was sitting off center, so I figured something had come loose or snapped. I test washed a small load, and although it made it through the cycle, it was loud, so something's very wrong.

One more thing to take care of before the weekend. Geez. I went to bed even grouchier, and told Aidan she should know better, and that she was calling the repairman today, and paying for the repair. She hasn't argued...yet.

Oh, the reason I took down yesterday's post was because I didn't want people on Dal's blog to think I meant them on the Jackass Forum. That's not the forum I was referring to, but a new forum for people who have been banned by BOTH hoD and CC. I realized I may have not made that clear yesterday, and since I didn't have time to amend it, I just took it down. I also realized something else...

I think Forrest was referring to these porcupine quills in his latest SB, which you can find on Dal's here.

My comment on that was:

I see what you’re saying, Forrest. But what if those porcupines are awake and swinging their tail with a vengeance and their barbs are hurting innocent people? Does one run away from the porkies, or maybe find a good defense? Or maybe sing them a lullaby to lure them back to sleep?
Or does one quietly walk away with the barbs, pluck them out and burn them, remembering “Victory at the expense of the innocent is no victory at all?”
I think I know the answer. Thanks, Forrest.
  • Oh yeah, and I forgot to add about the other part…After plucking out the quills and taking the higher road, one can sit at the top of a high hill and watch those porkies slip on all the banana peels they’ve grabbed.
    🙂

Anyway, I'm still exhausted by the washing machine chaos last night. So, I've got some YouTube videos to watch. Maybe I can fix it myself. :)
