Man, I just love old books! We went thrift shopping this weekend, and stumbled upon a thrift shop with a large number of first edition books, and one of them was GOLD. I got a first edition copy of East of Eden by John Steinbeck, in very good condition for $4! And I can resell it on eBay for about $100-$400! So, now I’m on the hunt for more. I bought a few other books I can probably quadruple or more my profit on, and a couple can potentially bring in a REALLY nice profit. I’m looking at some very old A.A. Milne books, because I LOVE pre-Disney Winnie the Pooh. I wish I had the $$$$ to buy a signed edition!
I did, however, buy a signed copy of a first edition, pristine hardcover of Game of Thrones. I’m looking far into the future on that one. George R.R. Martin’s signed first editions are projected to rocket up in value as the years pass.
And I’d love to find a first edition Tolkien one day. I just LOVE this stuff!
