What's really cool is that this color is being described as a "nearly perfect" shade of blue. It's rich, it's vibrant, and it's stunningly electric in all it's flawless blue glory. Artists are nearly peeing themselves in excitement, because it's being manufactured for paint.
It is a very pretty shade of blue, and blue is my favorite color. But isn't it fascinating that there's so much left to discover? I would have never thought that a color we've never seen before could still be discovered. I thought Crayola had done a pretty good job with their box of 133 colors.
But discoveries are still being made every day, from new and amazing stuff from the depths of outer space to new species of animals on our own planet.
Speaking of colors and outer space...when I was a kid, I colored outer space with a black crayon. Crayola didn't think that was quite accurate or exciting enough, so they created a crayon that probably has made little nerdy kids everywhere wear this particular stick of wax down to a stub:
But with all the new discoveries being discovered, one discovery this week out-colors them all. James found out he has the 4th of July off, and he's coming to see me this weekend! A whole 3 day weekend! That has me tickled pink, and believe it or not, Crayola has a color for that, too!
So, I pick him up from the airport Saturday morning, and we'll have lunch at Volusia Top Gun, where we'll also test our shooting skills in an epic shootout for high stakes. He asked me what kind of gun I wanted to shoot for our contest, and I said I'd let him pick, because if I can still shoot like I used to, I have no worries. It's good to try to intimidate an opponent before a high stakes contest. Lol.
Then the rest of the weekend, we'll play house, go to the pool, watch movies and I'll make him delicious dinners and cookies.
Maybe I'll pull out this crayon and draw him a dinner as a joke:
I'm not sure what the red rimmed black blob is in that kid's mac n cheese. Maybe his mother's heart after she cooks the mac n cheese Junior begged for over the course of a couple hours and then only ate a bite before declaring he's all done. Or even worse, declares he's all done and then starts smearing it on his face:
Hey, at least it's not peanut butter, right Mom of this Kid?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the weekend, and soooo excited to make even more new discoveries with James!
