Awesome Week!

My first week of work was very, very awesome. I love this practice and how everyone has just one job. My back hurt the first couple nights from bending down and standing up all day, but I've learned that I don't need to really do that anymore with this new 100% digital x-ray machine. No need to change cassettes after every exposure, no more waiting 90 seconds to run each cassette through the machine. An exam that took ten minutes thats about 3 minutes here. Which means less time for patients to hold awkward or uncomfortable positions, and a smoother workflow and less wait times for patients. Which means happy patients, which means happy doctors, which means happy everyone. It's really pleasant. Everyone I've met so far is so nice to work with.

A rep brought us lunch from Panera the other day. I had time to grab a cookie and a chunk of bread, which was yummy. I still haven't eaten all of the cookie yet.

Today should be a relatively easy day because on Friday's the schedule ends at 3:00, and we try to be out of there soon after.

In other news, I'm beyond saddened by the school shooting near Boca Raton in Parkland, almost directly across from us on the east coast. I'm keeping their families and all the students in my prayers. I can't even begin to imagine the terror of the students involved and the anguish of the parents whose children didn't come home from school that day. Make sure you tell your kids you love them every time you say goodbye!

This weekend, James and I will celebrate Valentine's Day. I just am not sure what we're doing. Lol. Oh, don't know if I mentioned, but Joe passed his driving test with a perfect score! So proud of this kid! He doesn't usually let me post pics of him, but he gave me the okay for these. He's going through a huge growth spurt and is my height now! And still growing!

We have to provide a few candid photos for his New Zealand scholarship, so here's one. I may not submit this one, because I just noticed the Alfalfa piece of hair in the back...

Anyway, lots of good stuff going on around here. I'm excited for the summer! James wants to go to New Zealand to surprise Joe while he's there, but I don't think he realizes how expensive it is, and this is something Joe should experience without his mom hovering over him. It'll be the first time he's been away from a relative for an extended period. I think he'll have an amazing time!
